Free Series 6 Practice Questions

FreeFellow hosts more than 1,000 free Series 6 practice questions, every one an original item with a step-by-step solution, covering all four FINRA function areas. There is no trial window, no question cap, and no signup required to browse. Start at the Series 6 practice page.

Key Concept

The entire bank is free. Commercial Series 6 courses run roughly $100 to $350 for the same study phase; FreeFellow gives the full question bank away and reserves only timed mocks, flashcards, and analytics for the optional Fellow tier.

What the Bank Covers

The Series 6 is 50 scored questions in 90 minutes, weighted by FINRA across four functions. The FreeFellow bank mirrors that structure:

  • Mutual funds and packaged products: share classes, sales charges, breakpoints, expense ratios, net asset value
  • Variable annuities and variable life: accumulation and annuity phases, the separate account, surrender charges, death benefits, tax deferral
  • Retirement and tax-advantaged accounts: Traditional and Roth IRAs, 401(k) and 403(b) plans, contribution limits, distributions
  • Suitability, communications, and regulations: customer profiles, the suitability standard, prohibited practices, communications with the public

Each function has its own drill page, and the free diagnostic quiz gives a readiness baseline in a few minutes.

What a Solution Looks Like

Every item ships with a worked solution, not just an answer letter. Breakpoint and sales-charge questions walk the arithmetic step by step. Suitability and rules questions explain why the credited choice is right and what misconception each distractor represents. If you have ever marked a practice question wrong and stared at a one-line answer key, this is the fix.

How to Use It

A sequence that works for most candidates:

  1. Take the diagnostic to find your weakest function area.
  2. Drill by topic, weakest first. Read every solution, including for questions you got right.
  3. Switch to mixed practice once per-topic accuracy stabilizes, because the real exam interleaves topics.
  4. Watch the readiness score. It weights recent performance by topic and tracks you against the pass threshold as you go.

The Series 6 overview explains the format, the SIE corequisite, and what each function area tests. If your role will grow beyond packaged products, the Series 7 overview covers the broader general-securities license.
